Hey guys. We are getting close to our first beta stage. I estimate it's still 1-2 weeks away. This beta stage is open only to existing users. The purpose of this stage is to test the engine, its capabilities and limits thus far. We are looking to isolate bugs, inconsistencies and strange behaviours so that we can fix them before release. We are also looking to see how the engine performs on various versions of Android, as well as various devices. What you can expect: There is no visual canvas in the testing interface. This means that you won't see the visual layout of your wallpaper All graphics need to be pre-packed into a texture atlas (more on this below). There is no splash activity. Settings activity is minimal. There is no advertising support. Resulting apks are not suitable for any publications. Texture Atlases: All images need to be packed into one texture atlas. This atlas will then be used by the engine that will power the wallpaper. It will be up to you to pack your images into a texture atlas. There are texture packers available on the internet. I can recommend the following: CodeAndWeb Texture Packer - fantastic piece of software, very flexible, not free, demo available Libgdx Texture Packer - great packer that does the job, not as flexible, free to use. If anyone wants to help us beta test LWC, you can sign up by posting here or by sending me a private message. Keep in mind, if you want to be a tester, we are relying on your detailed feedback and completeness. Our goal will be to reproduce the issues that you discover, which sometimes can only be done under a specific environment (i.e. device, android ver.). We may request your wallpaper images, configurations, screenshots, screencasts and anything else relevant that we deem necessary in order to identify the issue. To sign up, please post here or private message me with the following specs: Testing device: Android version: Rooted: Screencasting (can record screen): Example: Please keep in mind that this is the first beta stage so please bear with us. The number of testers is limited, therefore it's possible that not everyone will be picked. Those selected will be contacted with further information. If you have questions, please post them. We want to thank everyone in advance for your support and desire to help out EDIT: Brief update. Testing environment almost finished. Aiming for August 11 to open first beta.
