Group buying, also called collective buying, refers to purchasing goods and services from more than one seller. The most well-known origins of group buying are found in China, where it's called Tuín Gòu. In China, it's often called "Zhou guan", which literally means a group purchasing. The origin of group buy is believed to come from two different traditions. One tradition traces its roots back to ancient times when the emperors would appoint their own members to go and look at and purchase raw materials for the emperor's palace.
